Who We Are
Eric Jacobs founded The Audio Archive in 2004 to assist audio collection holders to preserve their collections in a complex and rapidly evolving digital world.
He set out to tackle the latest challenges of audio preservation by combining his two decades of engineering expertise together with his long-held passion for history and music. Since then, he has presented new concepts for mass digitization to the Library of Congress, pioneered new techniques for rapid media format identification and cleaning, and developed improved methods and custom equipment for audio playback.
Since its inception, The Audio Archive has proudly preserved thousands of hours of audio recordings. We count among our clients Harvard University, the Hoover Institution, Indiana University, Stanford University, along with numerous artists and private collectors.
