September 2008 - The Audio Archive is awarded a contract by the Voices of the Holocaust project (Illinois Institute of Technology) to restore 80 hours of interviews originally recorded on wire at the end of World War II in Europe. This project involves sophisticated digital restoration techniques using the Cube-TecAudioCubeaudio restoration tools.
The restored recordings are now available on-line and can be searched and listened to. In addition to the audio, there are full transcripts of each interview, both in the native language as well as with an accompanying English translation.
